We sponsored Goole AFC versus Maltby Main AFC in the Northern Premier league at the Pleasure grounds Goole. Both teams are in the relegation zone and therefore it was six pointer. The game was poor, with Maltby Main being the better of the teams, eventually running out winners by four goals to nil and moving them off the bottom. It is to be hoped that Goole improve for their next match against away at Rossington who are at the other end of the table. Good luck to the team.
It is fair to say that, even though the game was rubbish, the Meir team had a good day and for some a liquid evening. Two of them ended up at the Chinese takeaway and sat for some time eagerly awaiting their supper, before being informed that they had not actually ordered! Nothing to do with the alcohol though?
